Mass Timber & Forest Economy Bus Tour

Meeting at the park and ride off I-91 in Hartland
The Mass Timber Working Group of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund is hosting a day-long bus tour on May 11 leaving from the park and ride off I-91 in Hartland, VT.
Stops will include Bensonwood in Walpole, NH, a fabricator of CLT panels and mass timber design build firm as well as Allard Lumber in Brattleboro and the award winning University of Massachusetts Amherst Design Center building in Amherst, MA, the largest Mass Timber building in the northeast and a project that pioneered new wood construction technology.
Cost is $75, AIA and 6.0 AIA/CES HSW LUs or 0.6 ICC continuing education credits are available. Lunch is included.
Speakers will include Tom Chung from Leers Weienzapfel, lead architect on the UMass Building as well as Dr. Peggi Clouston from the UMass Amherst faculty, one of the nation’s leading experts on advanced wood technology and the driving force behind this amazing new building method. Register
This tour is limited to 36 participants and is being distributed to several built environment and land use networks so early registration is encouraged. Open to all in the built environment, forest and land use communities so it may fill up quickly.
